Thumbnails decide the click. Channel art crops differently on TV, mobile, and desktop. Shorts need vertical. Here are the formats that matter—and how not to break them.
1280×720 is the canvas, but it looks tiny on mobile. Big faces, little text, high contrast. If the message only reads fullscreen, it fails in the feed.
Don’t paste the full video title on the thumb—YouTube already shows the title underneath. Use 2–4 words or a visual gesture.
The file is 2560×1440, but every device crops differently. Keep logo and claim centered; sides disappear on mobile/TV.
